Christian Eigner X Riederauer Richárd: Orchestrified Pulse | lemezbemutató koncert
A Depeche Mode dobosa, Christian Eigner és Riederauer Richárd, a Magyar Nemzeti Férfikar vezetője és karmestere közös zenei projektje új dimenzióba helyezi a dob szerepét. Az Orchestrified Pulse hipnotikus, transzszerű zenei világában a dob adja a kompozíciók alapját, amelyre zenekari, férfikari és elektronikus hangzásrétegek épülnek. A produkció első felvételei november 26-án, Budapesten, a MOMkult színpadán szólalnak meg.
Christian Eigner évek óta dolgozik saját zenei kompozícióin, amelyek a világjárvány idején szólókoncertjeinek alapját adták. A dobokra épülő, fokozatosan kibontakozó zenei folyamatok nagyzenekari megszólaltatásának gondolata vezetett az Orchestrified Puls megszületéséhez.
A közös alkotómunka Riederauer Richárddal Budapesten indult, ahol a két zenész a 101 Voices Depeche Mode Special Tribute produkció kapcsán találkozott.
A Pannonia Stúdióban készült EP a projekt első fontos állomása.
A produkció a Magyar Nemzeti Férfikar számára is új művészi lehetőséget teremt, nemzetközi színtéren képviselve a magyar előadóművészetet egy műfajokon átívelő, kísérletező zenei együttműködésben.

Depeche Mode Drummer Christian Eigner Creates His First Solo Album with Hungarian Musicians
Christian Eigner will present the first recordings of Orchestrified Pulse in Budapest on 26 November
Christian Eigner found his creative counterpart in Riederauer Richárd, musical director and conductor of the Hungarian National Male Choir, who built orchestral and male-choir arrangements around Eigner’s original drum compositions. This is how Orchestrified Pulse was born: a hypnotic, trance-like musical journey in which the drums are not an accompanying instrument, but the starting point and driving force of the music. Blending symphonic and choral elements with electronic textures, the unique project will be presented live for the first time in Budapest on 26 November at MOM Cultural Centre.
Christian Eigner, the drummer of Depeche Mode, has been working on his own musical material for several years. During the pandemic, he began performing solo concerts, appearing on stage alone with his drums and playing long, gradually evolving compositions. Even then, he knew that he eventually wanted to bring these pieces into an orchestral setting.
Finding the right creative partner, however, took time. That changed last year in Budapest, when he met Riederauer Richárd, musical director of 101 Voices – Depeche Mode Special Tribute. Eigner had come to Hungary as a guest artist of the production, and during their work together it quickly became clear that the two musicians shared a similar approach to musical experimentation.
“When you meet somebody who is on the same wavelength as you, you know it immediately. We feel the same way about how music can be turned into emotion. We are both very passionate about music. We are probably both a little crazy about music. And you can hear that.” – Christian Eigner
Eigner introduced Riederauer to the compositions he had been performing at his solo concerts, and Riederauer built orchestral and male-choir layers around them. These were not traditional symphonic arrangements of conventional songs: the structure of the original, long-form compositions remained intact, while the new instrumentation opened up an entirely new dimension.
One of the defining features of Orchestrified Pulse is that the music is not built around an orchestra or a vocalist, but around the drums. Every composition grows from Eigner’s playing, with the symphonic orchestra, male choir and electronic soundscape connecting to and expanding the drum-driven foundation.
“It’s alternative, hypnotic music, enhanced by a fantastic orchestra and choir. It’s for anyone who is open to going on a musical journey – someone who likes surprises and doesn’t want to know in advance exactly where the music is going to take them. You can dance to it, you can simply listen to it, you can get lost in it.” – Eigner said of the project’s musical style.
The EP was completed at Pannonia Studio in Budapest. Its live premiere will take place on 26 November at MOM Cultural Centre. The full-length Orchestrified Pulse album will be presented as a standalone production in 2027, with a European concert series planned to follow.
“The project is also a unique opportunity for the Hungarian National Male Choir: it can represent Hungary on international stages through a contemporary musical production where classical music, electronic sounds and a contemporary approach to popular music come together.” – added Riederauer Richárd, musical director of the Hungarian National Male Choir and conductor of 101 Voices.
